Sitting Is Truely Deadly

The American Institute for Cancer Research recently reported a strong connection between inactivity and cancer. They suggest that around 92000 cases a year of breast and colon cancer can be attributed to a lack of exercise. People who were most active, even a brisk daily walk saw a cancer reduction of 25-30%. Also, researchers from Australia’s Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute have discovered that even taking a break of just one minute with some movement can help prevent health complications- ‘sitting time is emerging as a strong candidate for being a cancer risk factor in its own right.’ Studies show that office workers spend around 75% of their working day sitting and regular movement helps reduce the risk for all cancers.

Even more evidence that disuse is deadly and exercise is powerful medicine.  Move often.
