More on being Natural

Posted: March 14, 2011 By: admin

More good news today on the importance of natural foods for us as more evidence emerges of the importance of breastfeeding babies. It is now thought breastfeeding even for the first 4 weeks increases intelligence with those doing better at reading, writing and maths at age five, seven, eleven and fourteen. It is already known that breastfeeding helps boost babies’ immunity, lower the risk of asthma and allergies and even to protect the mother against breast and ovarian cancers. However, 20% of mothers in the UK never breastfeed compared with only 2% in Sweden and only 3% here breastfeed for the recommended six months and only a third are continuing after a week. Although, some good news here I am not sure about the recently launched breast milk ice cream in London!
